In response to this, and as a tribute to both the people in the Second World War and the "Broom Army" of helpers who appeared with brushes and shovels to clear up the damage after the riots, I have written this one-off lesson based on the value and strength of the community.

Community spirit in the riots and Blitz
Like most people, I was appalled at the 2011 UK riots and was very impressed with the efforts of ordinary people to help people overcome
the difficulties it caused.
